Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant

First stop at Uncle Jang’s Korean restaurant located at Ampang. This restaurant gave us a very Korean feeling the moment we step in because apart from us, all the other patron were Korean.
The filtered water was free of charge and offered to us once we sat down. There are other beverages such as a variety of soda and Korean rice wine.
We ordered a Dak Galbi with normal spiciness, normal Dak Galbi is quite a challenge for me as a spice lover, we recommend those do not have a steel tongue to try their normal Dak Galbi first before you venture into the HOT ZONE.
The staff over there will stir fry your dish in front of you while you watch and smell the fragrance and mouth water drooling. The ingredients in it contain sweet potatoes, Korean Rice cake, cabbage and super tender chicken meat.
Ramen, Udon, Korean Rice Cake, fried rice and Cheese can be order as extra side dish to compliment your already stomach filling Dak Galbi. We ordered Ramen as our side dish to add in it, while the Ramen look may be deceiving, but the taste is superb if fry together with the Dak Galbi. The taste of the Ramen is springy but not soft and soggy, but as everything else, eat it while it is still hot.
After it is cooked, this is how it looks.
The staff will also serve you a variety of side dish to compliment your main dish free of charge and free flow.
The fresh and green lettuce,
Kimchee
Dice fresh garlic and bean paste
Marinated onion in sweet soy sauce
You can eat the dish with lettuce and combine whatever side dish you want in it, I personally recommend onion and Kimchee with the ingredients from the main dish.
The rice cake in the Dak Galbi is the best of all the ingredients in it, it does not have those soft and soggy rice cake you eat outside, it feature a springy taste and tenderness, highly recommending everyone who is going there to order extra to add in if you are a Korea rice cake lover.

This is one of the sweet potato. But beware, eating lots of this with this combine with the hot and spicy Dak Galbi may make your stomach very gaseous. *Such as mine, but the taste is irresistible

Recommend those having Dak Galbi, eat it while it is hot. Because toward the end of the meal, we found that the meal is rather oily for us to finish.

They serve up watermelon as dessert for us, free of charge.
